Children’s Rights

Roy Shabhankur Ghoshal, Youth Action Academy Member, runs through children’s rights and explores 5 of them, chosen by Champions 4 Change. Including how we include them in Champions 4 Change and SPW.

 

Welcoming and Supporting Children at Events

Talia Burns, Volunteer Manager, walks you through how to welcome young people to an event, plus offering support. Including prompts, insights, questions and scenarios.

 

How to Manage a Panic Attack

Amy Holland, SPW CEO and trainee Human Givens Therapist, talks to you about how to manage a panic attack, including breathing techniques and the AWARE approach.

 

Strategies to Help Emotionally Regulate

Rowan from Bridging and Gap guides us through some journaling techniques that can help us feel more settled and understanding of what we need in each moment.

 

Positive Mental Health Tips Around Anxiety

In this video, Si Martin from Heads Above The Waves, gives some simple and effective ways of managing anxiety, and keeping your head above the waves. Helping you find ways to make it through bad days.

Understanding A bit more about Tourette Syndrome and being Neurodivergent

Sean Yhnell (He/Him) - (Founder of Beat Technique) is a neurodivergent multidisciplinary creative artist. Sean has an inspiring story about developing Tourette's Syndrome and how he used beatboxing and music as a way of initially managing his symptoms and ADHD. This creative outlet turned into an impressive career path as Sean continues to use his talents for good! 

 

Unconscious Bias 

Russel Thomas (He/Him, Volunteer Manager) helps us to understand what having Unconscious Bias means, where it comes from, how (if not identified and acted upon) it can impact others and most importantly - how to take intentional steps to ensure our treatment to everyone is equal and inclusive.

 

Becoming an Active Bystander

Russel Thomas (He/Him, Volunteer Manager) speaks about the importance of learning to become an active bystander. He covers: What is Non-inclusive behaviour?, Reasons why we can be passive bystanders and key steps for becoming an active bystander.

 

Identifying and Managing Addictions

Sharon Lewis Harvey-Lewis (She/Her)  and Roy Goshal (He/Him) open up about their own experiences with addiction. They cover some of the signs and symptoms of addictions, insight into what it can feel like and what to do if you think you or someone you know might be experiencing an addiction. 

 

LGBTQ+ Awareness 

Archie Woodrow (They / Them) and Al (He/She/They) are a part of an LGBTQ+ youth group and will be outlining key LGBTQ+ terminology, important insights into the experience, emotions and fears a lgbtq+ young person may have and how to be supportive, inclusive and respectful.
